This study aimed to synthesize the available evidence on scaling and identify current knowledge gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An umbrella systematic review was conducted using a rigorous approach. Searches were performed across nine relevant databases and grey literature sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Out of 24,269 documents screened, 137 unique reviews were included, 58 of which were systematic reviews. The study identified nine major knowledge domains related to scaling:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Barriers and facilitators to scaling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Costs of scaling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theoretical frameworks for scaling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scaling infrastructures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scaling interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performance measures for scaling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scalability assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bibliometric analysis on scaling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethical, legal, and societal issues in scaling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The domains most frequently reported as influencing successful scaling were infrastructure development (e.g., creating new service sites) and human resources (e.g., training community care providers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This study shows that evidence on scaling is rapidly evolving. It highlights methodological and infrastructural gaps.
