Available in\u00a0English\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0French<\/a>, this interactive\u00a0guide\u00a0presents 21 challenges one can encounter when doing Organizational Participatory Research (OPR) and various ways to avoid or mitigate each of them.\u00a0The content is\u00a0based on\u00a0a review\u00a0of over 30 OPR publications. To maintain this guide up-to-date, we have implemented a search strategy,\u00a0developed by a health librarian, in\u00a0the collaborative\u00a0research trend monitoring system \u00a9\u00a0eSRAP<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Organizational Participatory Research (OPR)?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Participatory research is an approach in which researchers collaborate with people directly concerned by the research subject, such as health and social services staff or patients. Together, they participate in all stages of the research, from defining the questions to the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RPO focuses on implementing change within an organization, such as a clinic or hospital. Non-academic partners contribute their expertise to ensure that proposed changes, such as new practices or policies, are relevant and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n
