In December 2022, the Unit\u00e9 de soutien SSA Qu\u00e9bec held its annual meeting of Francophone and Anglophone Indigenous patient partners circles: a day rich in discussions and several avenues of reflection to make the health system more culturally safe for the Indigenous populations. Catherine Wilhelmy<\/a>,\u00a0Samira Amil<\/a>,\u00a0Audrey-Lise Rock-Hervieux<\/a>,\u00a0Alex McComber<\/a>,\u00a0Amelia McGregor<\/a> and Paul-Yves Weizineau<\/a> were present.<\/p>\n\n

The Indigenous Patient Circle<\/h3>\n\n

The Indigenous Patient Circle will help develop respectful and meaningful relationships with Indigenous patient partners, representing a wide range of communities, nations and social identities. The Circle will be a self-governing, self-determining community that provides a safe place for its members to share and guide the implementation of the Unit’s Indigenous health program. This is a promising project initiated by our colleagues Alex McComber and Marie-Claude Tremblay, PhD.<\/p>\n\n
